Prayer for Victory

Davidic

1 Oppose my opponents, Lord; fight those who fight me.
2 Take Your shields—large and small—and come to my aid.
3 Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers, and assure me: “I am your deliverance.”
4 Let those who seek to kill me be disgraced and humiliated; let those who plan to harm me be turned back and ashamed.

1 O Lord, oppose those who oppose me. Fight those who fight against me.
2 Put on your armor, and take up your shield. Prepare for battle, and come to my aid.
3 Lift up your spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Let me hear you say, “I will give you victory!”
4 Bring shame and disgrace on those trying to kill me; turn them back and humiliate those who want to harm me.

1 Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid.
3 Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, “I am your salvation.”
4 May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.

1 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
